The Peer Review Process

Acceptance of symposium papers for publication in the IEEE Conference Proceedings is subject to a satisfactory peer review of the full-text drafts. The review process shall ensure that all authors have equal opportunity for publication of their papers.

The International EML Symposium Committee is dedicated to maintaining high standards of quality in conference presentations and published proceedings. A crucial part of the IEEE´s mission is to provide highly relevant technical information. All accepted papers must conform to IEEE guidelines regarding grammatical quality, technical quality, and previously unpublished original research.

It is very important that your research results are clearly expressed in your draft paper to enable the reviewers to make informed judgments. As a result, some papers may be rejected during the review process if they fail to meet these quality and clarity criteria.

Consistent with IEEE´s policies and procedures, all papers will be reviewed by at least two referees who are competent and have experience in the area of the subject matter of the paper.

Referees are formal reviewers whose comments and opinions will form the basis upon which the Conference Proceedings Editor will decide whether or not to publish the paper, and with what changes.

The Editor's decision is always based on all the reviews received, but mixed reviews present the need for the exercise of editorial judgment. Thus, the final decision for acceptance or rejection lies with the Editor.
